0 to 1 Meta Ads

So I have a brand new ad account and my AEM is ineligible for purchase and trial start, only thing I can run is installs. And as you all know, running installs just gets you installs not purchases. And as far as I know Meta needs historic purchase event data to even start optimizing for purchases, but I can't run purchase optimized campaigns without that data in the first place.

I'm using Appsflyer for attribution and Revenuecat for subscriptions if that matters. Events are firing fine, the data is flowing but Meta won't let me optimize for anything beyond installs yet.

How are you guys handling this 0 to 1 phase on Meta? Did you just burn budget on installs and wait? Run some mid funnel event? Something else entirely?

I guess my username checks out here lol

if you can't run AEM with purchases it's because your devs are not attaching IP and IDFV to the purchase event from RC and therefore, meta is not receiving them which prevents you from having AEM unlocked.

Doesn't Appsflyer already send the IP and IDFV to Meta on its own?

not according to my experience, i had cases where the devs had to manually attach these paremeters when using the events from revenue cat.
however, if you use af_purchase from appsflyer, it has normally had the parameters attached

I encountered a case with my app where, even though we were using AppsFlyer events and sending a large number of events to Meta, AEM was still not unlocked.

In this situation, the issue lies on Meta’s side, and you will need to work with Meta Support to resolve it. From my experience, it can take a long time to explain the problem to them, since they are not very familiar with app events. Once you push them hard enough, they unlock the AEM in your account from their side, and you can use it immediately.

check the settings in your events manager, there should be a place where you can check AEM eligibility and it will tell you exactly what you need to do for each event to be eligible. If your events don't appear there, then you need to make sure you are using the correct integration method for your events.

Thank you guys but the question wasn't just AEM. It's the overall idea of 0 to 1. When the pixel has no historic data do you guys run campaigns for purchases or trial starts immediately or you doing something else?

I go directly with purchases and trials - meta does not need to "warm up" the account :)
interesting. What i've noticed is when i start a campaign for let's say start trial and it gets 0 conversions while hook rate is 40-50%, the CTR being 1.6%. The CPM is rising every day starting at 20$ on 3rd day becomes 60$ and still 0 trial starts. My assumption is meta tests pool of people initially starting at the lowest CPM users, sees they don't convert and goes into more premium pool of users or maybe it's just a shitty creative😂Just an assumption though, would love to hear your thoughts guys what would be the cause of this

that's odd af :D
I literally started a fresh account yesterday and I do see conversions in less than 24h and a decent CPM too

you can also test with CPI campaigns if you don't have a big pocket but that's not ideal because there will some cases where the creative works for CPI but not for CPA
